The Aprilaire 600 Water Panel - Humidifier Filter Pad is a compatible replacement metal humidifier filter (Note: Aprilaire also manufactures a paper filter: the Aprilaire 600 Humidifier Water Panel Paper Evaporator).
The compatible Aprilaire 600 filter is specially constructed for wick-style humidifier models that draw dry air through the wet humidifier filter. The dry air that passes through the wet Aprilaire humidifier filter then picks up moisture, thereby humidifying the air in the house.
Aprilaire 600 water panels should be replaced every six months in order to prevent calcium, lime, and other hard water deposits from collecting on the Aprilaire water pad and severely limiting its ability to humidify the air. By regularly changing the Aprilaire water panel evaporator, you can maximize the humidity output in your home, causing the humidifier to run less and thereby saving you money. A clean Aprilaire 600 humidifier filter also prevents mold and fungus spores from collecting in the air.
