  1. I have a Kenmore Elite Premier Reverse Osmosis system and have live in San Francisco. We have two young kids and pretty much 3 adults drinking off of the filter. I’ve found that my pre and post filters last barely 2 months when I’ve commonly heard 6 months as an expected target. The flow rate starts to slow and then does a dead stop…then I change the filters and am back in business. Does this sound normal for a newly constructed house in SF?

  2. I HAVE A BORRED WELL. I USE A WHOLE HOUSE FILTER. TODAY WHEN I WENT TO CHANGE MY FILTER ONE SIDE OF IT HAD A GREEN GROWTH ON IT. IT WAS ON THE SIDE THAT FACED THE DOOR OF MY WELL ROOM. THE DOOR WAS LEFT OPEN WHICH HARDLY EVER HAPPENS. WHAT IS THIS?

  3. I have a Multi-pure reverse osmosis & carbon filter for drinking water to help remove flouride, chloramines and other contaminants. However, I have read that the reverse osmosis filter strips away the healthy minerals also and that maybe this water filter isn’t that efficient anyway.
Now I am considering buying a water filter from Radiant Life Catalog (http://www.radiantlifecatalog.com/prod.cfm/ct/7/pid/1150) that is much more expensive, also includes reverse osmosis which some people say is the only way to remove flouride, but then it reconditions the water in some ways afterwards. Another water filter system has also been recommended to me which supposedly removes only the bad stuff and not the good minerals (http://www.gobeyondorganic.com/water/index.html). However, I have been told by others that this latter system can’t really work because there is no technology out there that can remove only the good stuff. So right now, I am doing nothing. Both these systems are expensive and I want to select a technology that works and doesn’t have unhealthy consequences. Can you help me? Who are the experts in water filtration philosophy and technology? Who are you and what affiliation with any water filter products do you have.
    thank you,

  4. I have a reverse osmosis system GXRM10G. Family of 2. How often should I change the postfilter sump and prefilter sump and should I change the RO cartridge at the same time?

  5. How do you turn off the red light on the
outside of the refrigerator after you
replace the filter. I couldn’t figure it out.
I lost the instructions. It is a Maytag filter. Thanks.

  6. My water appears to have particles floating in it. If I get water out of any faucet or my refrigerator, it has the same particles in the water.
