We have a water softener and until yesterday, we had no problems.
Today, however we poured some water...which we also run through a Pur filtering system, and it tasted like salt water.
Is this an indication of a problem with our water softener? It's only about 2-3 years old.

Have recently put in a new well. Upon having the water tested I found out that our water passed all state/federal standards, but the salt content though exceptable is on the high end of exceptable, 39.0. I was wondering if you know if the Brita system in the kitchen faucet would be effective to filter out some of this salt. We do not taste it, but recently I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and am trying to eliminate as much as I can of the salt that I injest.
Any help in this area would be appreciated.
thank-you, Robin
