Making a Difference – Donate Miles for Clean Water

At Filtersfast.com our employees are making a statement about our corporate social responsibility for the environment and for the people around the world without access to clean drinking water. As partners of The W3 Project with Wine To Water and TrekDesk, the departments in Filtersfast.com are walking for a cause. We are walking to build a community of humanitarians who walk in the pursuit of health and wellness for everyone with two crucial reasons in mind:

1.)    To help provide clean drinking water to those without access to it through our partnership with Wine To Water

2.)    To raise awareness about the small steps we can take to help decrease the obesity problem in our country through our partnership with TrekDesk Treadmill Desks

We are accomplishing these goals throughout our various departments. Many office personnel are walking daily on their TrekDesk Treadmill Desks while compiling miles to donate to The W3 Project. Members within the Warehouse Department are using pedometers to track and donate the miles they walk each day, while carrying out their daily job responsibilities.

We are also collecting aluminum cans to redeem and donate that money to The W3 Project. This donation will be used to help bring clean drinking water to those who do not have access to it.

If you would like to support The W3 Project, visit www.filtersfast.com/w3 and select “Donate Miles” or “Sponsor Miles.” You can also connect with The W3 Project via Twitter and Facebook.

At Filtersfast.com, we believe in making a difference in the environment and for the people around the world. As partners with the W3 Project, we are implementing our corporate social responsibility to reach those around the world in need of clean drinking water, while bringing awareness to the obesity problem we face in the United States.

Students Donate Miles in the W3 Project World Water Day Challenge

Indian Trail Students Donate Their Miles To Save Lives!

The enthusiasm in the eyes of children when they contribute and accomplish something to help thousands of people around the world, is a sight that will bring you to your humble knees. Many of the students at Indian Trail Elementary School in Indian Trail, North Carolina participated in The W3 Project World Water Day Challenge, in their quest to donate each mile they walked for this special project.

Watching the look of anticipation on the faces of each one of these children, literally brings tears to your eyes. They represented diverse ethnicities, genders, personalities and socio-economic backgrounds, which meant absolutely nothing when it came down to walking for a worthy cause.

Upon completion of walking for the W3 Project, students were awarded certificates and a special bag of goodies for their hard work and dedication by donating their miles to provide clean drinking water to at least one person for an entire year. 3M Filtrete made a generous donation to Indian Trail Elementary School and sponsored every mile that each student walked. The W3 Project includes the partnerships of Filtersfast.com, Wine to Water and TrekDesk. Together, they are building a community of humanitarians walking in the pursuit of health and wellness for everyone.

It’s amazing how these children understood the concept that 1 mile = 1 year of clean drinking water for 1 person, while bringing attention to the obesity problem we face in our society. We want to thank the following people from Indian Trail Elementary School who were instrumental in making this project a remarkable success:

Candice Boatright, Principal

Allison Audet, P.E. Teacher

Jenna Mayhew, PTO President

Teachers: Ms. Feinstein, Ms. Baker, Ms. Dixon, Ms. Landers, Ms. Reese, Ms. Rochfort, Ms. Yalich and Ms. Hamilton

Kelly Ransbottom, Bookkeeper

We would like to again thank 3M Filtrete for their sponsorship and to all of the students who unselfishly donated their miles for such a worthy cause, thank you for a job well done! To the parents and guardians of these students, thank you so much for supporting them. See you next year!

Filtersfast.com, a locally owned and operated e-commerce business specializing in water and air filtration, recently partnered with Wine To Water, a 501(c)(3) non-profit air organization, based in Boone, North Carolina that focuses on providing clean water to needy people around the world, for the W3 Project.

The W3 partnership also includes TrekDesk Treadmill Desk, which will help to expand the importance of walking, exercising and improving your overall health. The W3 partnership between FiltersFast.com, TrekDesk and Wine To Water is such a perfect fit because it expands a greater awareness to a larger and more diverse audience locally, nationally and internationally about the global water crisis and walking to improve your exercise routine.

Doc Hendley was also in town for a fundraiser and book signing for the release of his new book “Wine To Water: A Bartender’s Quest to Bring Clean Water to the World.” For more information on how you can get involved with the W3 Project through mile donations or mile sponsorships, go to www.filtersfast.com/w3 and learn how you can contribute. “Walk for you. Walk for them.”
