Default Has anybody heard of the Hurley Water Filter?

Has anybody heard of the Hurley Water Filter?

I can't find any information on it other than on its website. My wife's friend has one of these systems and now she wants to get one. They claim that they use a carbon filtration system that only needs to be replaced every five years. The reason for this is that you are able to hook up the filtration system in reverse in order to "backwash" the filter, thereby cleaning out whatever you have filtered out and extending the life of the filter.

The system is rather pricey, but my wife is allured by the cost saving aspect over the long term.

Does anybody know of this company, or other comparable technology? Is this complete hogwash or a great deal?
