we have a rental on a well where we have iron problem. We installed a Fleck 2510 Pyrolox, which has reduced the iron quite a bit to the suggested maximum of 0.3 mg/l. Now the problem is the odor of sulfur (rotten egg) and sediment. We have been using the Pentek S1-BB Water Filter but I just read that this one is not recommended for use with well water.
Which filter can you recommend for the odor and sediment problem? |

Hi S. Beck, Thanks for the post. The S1-BB is not recommended for well water because it is constructed of cellulose, which certain bacteria attack. Also, the S1-BB is just a sediment filter, not designed to reduce any bad tastes or odors. I would recommend any of the following cartridges for you: GAC-BB http://www.filtersfast.com/American-...er-filters.asp AP815 http://www.filtersfast.com/Aqua-Pure...er-filters.asp NCP-BB http://www.filtersfast.com/Pentek-NC...bon-filter.asp |
