Default Do i need an inline or RO for good tasting water?

Hi, right now i have a small inline filter under my kitchen sink. Just yesterday my wife and i noticed a rotten egg smell. The smell dissipates a couple seconds after the glass is filled. So i took the filter out and i am thinking maybe the filter is old.
Now i am thinking of getting a better inline filter or RO unit. I also want to use good quality water in the future with my ice maker too.

ROs will give you excellent water quality and clear ice cubes. Quality of the unit will m ake a big difference.
