Ice & Water Filter Needed

I have an Admiral (AS22N8D) refridgerator with external water/ice maker vending. It does not have a water filter system at this time. If I install a inline water filter, I assume that both water and ice would be filtered. The external water line appears to be copper. Please advise with information on appropriate water filter in the 15.00-30.00 range and preferably one year of usage.
