Spring water

I live in Minnesota and have land up north. I have recently discovered some naturel springs on the property and I am wondering what water tests I should do before drinking the water? I noticed there are water testers for various things on the Filtersfast website,which ones should I get?

Is this water going to be used on a regular basis or just sampling? Get a lab test checking for any health related issues. Giardia and other 'wildlife' may be festering about.

Boiling or some other disinfection method may be needed.

I plan on using it for drinking, showering and everything else... I called the county today and they do free testing for Nitrates,Bacteria, Iron and hardness. Thay gave me the phone number to the Dept. of health to see what else I should test it for, I called and left a message but have not heard back from them yet. The water at the spring is super cold, so I'm not sure if bacteria will be a major issue. I'm planning on using a hand pump with a canister filter inline and filter it down to 5 microns.

So basically I will attach a 8 foot hose to the pump( That has a coffee filter or a sock filter on it) stick the hose down into the spring which goes to the pump, then some fancy fittings that attach to the canister filter, then another short hose that will fill up my 5 gallon containers and my solar shower. For now I can use the water for showering, washing my hands, putting out the fire etc. etc. But I will wait until I have it tested until I drink it. The soil is about 90% sand on the land so its like one giant sand filter...
