The water/ice from my GE Side by Side is starting to taste soapy. Does this mean my filter needs changing?? I have a water softner and my other water tastes fine.

Hi,

Since your other water tastes fine you probably do need to change your refrigerator filter. How long has it been since you changed it? Most fridge filters last about 6 months.

Thank you. It's been over a year since I chan ged my filter but I usually go about that long between filters and the water has never tasted like this before.

No problem! It could be a change in your water quality or you may have just been using more water recently.

Couldn't it also be you're just using more soap than you need when washing dishes? I'm not really sure how your Refrigerator Water Filter would come into play here, unless you cleaned it out and used too much soap.

I also have the same feeling like jrs. I think you should ask the professional 1st to check up before going to change filter but as the already a year there since you have changed filter,it also needs to be changed now.
