RO waste water flow does not stop

I have a 4 stage "generic"RO system. Recently, my wife complained about the water faucet output pressure being low. I pumped in about 20 PSI into the white plastic water tank. At that pressure the tank does not get full at all. I then released the pressue back down to 10 PSI. Since then, the waste water output does not stopped flowing. I know this because instead of dumping the waste into the sewer line, I capture the waste into a water tank outside my house for watering my lawn.

I at first thought that the auto shut off valve is defective and I replaced it and same problem. I tested the clean water with a TDS meter and I am getting a reading of about 36. I also measure the clean to waste water ratio and my system is capturing about 10% to 15%. It used to be around 30% person. I have a water softening system too. Is my membrance busted or is there something else wrong with the system. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Anyone? I replaced the auto shutoff balve but it's still flowing non-stop. No sure if I should just replace the whole unit.

I'm having this same problem. I just installed the RO system, and even after it shuts off, if anyone flushes the toilet it starts running again. I have the RO 2000 series B from OmniFilter.
I'm not sure if the brine that goes to the faucet and the one that feeds the asvo are connected to the correct tubes. (They were disconnected when I got it out of the box.) The only difference that I can see is, the brine tube is coming out of a Grey quick connect and all the other connect on the system are white.
As a side note, I'm on well water and I have no pressure reducer or flow restriction device in the line.

After a liitle experiment, I figured that my problem was that my filters needed to be changed! It looks like I had the filters in there for more than 2 year. The filters were so clogged that it reduced the water pressure to the RO system. As a result the RO was not working properly and the waste water does not stop flowing.

Unless your RO has a metering device or timer or auto-shutdown, most ROs recommend changing filters every six months. Use a sediment prefilter for well water and carbon for chlorinated water. You should check the membrane to see if it is shot.
