Default Quality of Filmtec RO Membrane?

I have a Watts 4V RO system and I recently replaced all 3 filters and the membrane. The 3 filters were from Watts, but the membrane is from Filmtec. I ordered a 24GPD membrane, but received a 50GPD one. There was no flow restrictor included so I am still using the standard 24GPD one. My water does not taste as clean as it did before. I have not done a TDS test, but I can taste that there is a huge difference. Could the 50GPD membrane be the cause of this or the brand of the membrane? Thanks.

Filmtec membranes are a good quality membrane. They also sell there membrane fabric to alot of companys that roll there own membranes, filmtec wont let them advertise that they are rolled with filmtec sheets because they usually cost less then filmtec brand membranes, you pay for the name.
Have a 24GPD flow restrictor and a 50GPD membrane can affect how the RO functions. Also could be as time went on the membrane was not rejecting as well so you were used to it having a little more TDS and now that there is less tds it tastes differant.
here is a little more info on how the flow restrictor being differant can affect the RO.

I was going to say. I'll have to look at it again to see how to navigate through it.
