Hi,
I have a new well in Vermont and I seem to have a big problem with Iron and Manganese levels. I got a quote for a $3500 whole house filtration system but that’s a bit out of my price range. I’m wondering what other solutions might work as well for less money. Here’s the info I have on my water. Any recommendations on a solution would be greatly appreciated. Grundfos well pump model 5SQE05A-180 (5 GPM) Manually calculated flow rate around 6 - 6.5 GPM. Iron 7 Problem > .3 Manganese .8 Problem > .05 PH 7.5 Problem < 7 Hardness 3 Problem > 6.0 TDS 60 mg/l Problem >400 mg/l Thanks ! |

Can you be more specific what was recommended as 'filter' is rather vague?
A softener will handle most of your water issues. |

It was a Kinetico Mach 4060s OD (macrolite).
Thanks, JT |

I have a real problem with the analysis data. Specifically the very low TDS and the pH, they do not sound anywhere near correct with everything else that is said to be in the water.
I strongly agree with the price being way too high, especially for what you get with Kinetico. Everyone should be aware that Andy is a Kinetico salesman.

If your iron is 7 ppm, then do not use the Kinetico 4060. It is not intended for those levels. A 2060 or 2100 model would serve you better if you chose to go that route. I sent you a PM, as well. Andy Christensen, CWS-II |

Gary,
Here are the original results that I got when I did a free mail in analysis. These were the first results that I got before getting an in home analysis done by a different water treatment company. What would you suggest that I do as a next course of action ? Thanks, JT Your test results through the Home Depot mail in water program are as follows. Our lab did indicate that you would benefit from our no charge in home more in depth testing. Please call to schedule this at your convenience to learn about how we can improve your water. 2gpg Hardness 6.8ph 7ppm Iron*** 60ppm total dissolved solids. Anything over 0.3 iron stains, as you can see you are way above the staining level, as I’m sure you are aware. |

I sent you a PM with that info (link) you requested. Let me know if that is OK. Andy |

JT, with my posts being deleted because of Andy complaining, and he sending you PMs, you can check my profile and contact me or PM me and I'd be glad to help you.
