    Default Autotrol 255/460i setup

Everyone always tells me I need to know the flow rate of my well pump. Are there different settings on the Autotrol head to adjust for different flow rates or is that used to size the system in the first place? The house I bought had a 255/460i in it but it froze so I bought a new one. Is there something I need to do to set it up for my flow rate?

The flow rate of your pump is what it is, you need to calculate your peak demand gpm in the house to size a filter or softener correctly. Some guys mistakenly think you use the flow rating gpm of the pump, and then make another mistake that their pump's gpm means they can't get more water out of the well than that number of gallons. Their problem is that they don't know how to read a pump curve chart or how to size a pump.

So there is nothing to set on the control valve based on your peak demand or the pump.
