What kinds of Filter do I need?

Hi,

Recently moved into a six year old house and I think I need to replace the whole house in-line water filter. The house uses well water.

The filter housing looks generic with no manufacture markings on it.

I have attached pictures of the filter system.

1. What type/kind of filter would be recommended for this well water setup?

2. To change the filter I assume I would close the in-line shutoff valves before and after the filter. Then open the drain under the filter to release the water. Then unscrew housing and replace filter.

Hi Steve,

Pictures 2 and 3 look like a standard size sediment filter. If you're just looking to change this filter then here are some replacements that can will fit that housing. I'm assuming you don't know what the micron rating on the filter is so I've provided examples from 5 to 50 microns. Hope this helps:
