Read about this filter on one of the commercial HVAC forums. This replaced the 1' pleated MERV 7 filter that I get at the big box home improvement store. Always had issues with a) the filter being pulled into the return duct b) loud airflow sometimes with whistling around the edges. With this new filter in place, WOW, night and day. Air flow is quite and plentiful. Not sure how long this will last but if its 6 months as I have read, this is a great product.
