Define hardware

The unit itself is working well so far, though it hasn't been long enough to judge the scale buildup reduction.

The primary issue with this unit is that the 'hardware' it includes consists of two machine screws to mount the unit to its bracket. It doesn't come with ANY plumbing hardware, or even screws to mount under the sink. The various fittings and tubing cost about $30 at the hardware store.
