Iron Reduction Filter
Greg - Toledo, Ohio (Saturday, May 26, 2012)
I installed this just over a month ago and it is collapsing under the weight of the iron it has trapped. I guess this is a good sign that it works, but I can't afford to replace this monthly. With water as crappy as mine, I'm going to try a cheaper micron cartridge that I can afford to replace regularly, or one that can be cleaned and reused.

RFFE20-BB
Danny Mann - NC (Monday, May 17, 2010)
I am using a Big Blue Dual 20 filter. I was getting toilet and tub rust stains with a sediment and carbon filters. I replaced the sediment filter with this Iron reduction filter. Immediately the metallic smell in the water disappeared and it tasted better. After two weeks now, I have not seen any trace of the rust stains. If the filter last for a few months, and only time will tell, then this is definately an outstanding product.

Pentek filters
John Bryant - Dundee Illinois (Wednesday, April 25, 2007)
I have very hard water with Iron and methane gas. I use a sanitizer water softener that also removes Iron. After softening, the water still had .5ppm of Iron a strong metallic smell, and left black and brown stains in the toilet, tub and shower. I tried several types of Pentek filters and worked my way up to the RFFE20-BB - Radial Flow Iron Reduction Filter. This is the best filter I have ever used. The water is softer and there is no trace of a metallic smell. The fixtures have been cleaned and after 3 weeks of use no stains!
