The AprilAire 4231 yellow orifice replacement is designed to allow a specific amount of water to go in to the humidifier which is unique to your model humidifier - it is used only in the specific AprilAire humidifiers listed above. Note that the AprilAire 4232 Humidifier Orifice (Blue) is for use with other AprilAire humidifier models.
