The Hydronix 10" x 4.5" String Filter is the economical replacement for the Liquatec SWF-45-1050 Sediment Filter. Also known as part number SWC-45-1050, this filter has a higher dirt holding capacity and flow rate than standard size string sediment filters. Constructed with 100% polypropylene fiber cord, this filter is ideal for residential and commercial applications. The Hydronix string wound filter reduces particles up to 50 microns and effectively reduces waterborne contaminants such as sand, silt, scale, dirt and rust.

The Hydronix string filter is appropriate for using with municipal and well water. Different wound patterns for different micron ratings will ensure that you are getting the right filter for your specific application. This string wound filter should not be used with water that is of unknown quality or microbiologically unsafe without proper disinfection. In addition to replacing the Liquatec SWF-45-1050 filter, this Hydronix String Filter replaces the Pentek 355220-43 and Watts SF50-10-425.

And I have tried a LOT of filters. Holds more sediment than any other filter I've used! I can definitely tell the the flow rate is better on this style vs the spun/bonded style, and it lasts longer since I don't have to change it based solely on decreased flow rate. The spun/bonded filters are very effective for catching finer particulate, but I use a series of 3 filters anyway. I use this, then a 25-1 micron gradient, followed by a 1 micron. Keeps the flow rate the highest, while still getting down to 1 micron because I get all the large particulate out first so my gradient filter doesn't get wasted immediately. Works GREAT!
