How Our President’s Day Sale Came to Be – Free Shipping on all Filters

Recently, we were tasked with finding a way to promote President’s Day, a uniquely American holiday that is celebrated on the third Monday in February. This was no small task. Should we post a video of us singing “Home of the Brave” (acapella version) or should we dress up like past US Presidents and use words that no one uses anymore like “fourscore” and “thus” (we’re looking at you, Abe Lincoln). Just when we were about to give up on the idea and “try again next year”, it hit us: Since this is the land of the free, why not just give our loyal customers FREE shipping on all orders over $75?

On February 18, 2013 only, we are giving FREE Economy Shipping on every order over $75 in the continental US. This is the perfect opportunity to stock up on replacement air and water filters, water bottles for the upcoming spring months, and humidifiers to survive the rest of the winter. The shipping is on us, so you won’t have to pay a dime.

Although the singing option was my personal favorite, you can’t beat FREE shipping for your favorite items. Remember, it’s FREE Economy Shipping on all orders over $75 in the continental US (mainland, excludes Alaska and Hawaii). Don’t let this one time offer pass without taking advantage of it. This President’s Day, we want you to be Consumer-in-Chief (get it?) so browse through our website and place your order while this offer lasts.

Celebrate Mardi Gras 2013 – French Meaning Fat Tuesday

Although the Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans are the most popular, they’re far from the only city that celebrates this occasion. Dozens of cities (including ten cities in Louisiana alone) have their own Mardi Gras festivities. These celebrations include wearing throw beads, decorative masks, festive costumes and much more. The traditional colors of green, gold and purple are also staples at every celebration. If you are planning on celebrating Mardi Gras this year, there are a few things you should have to truly make this celebration special.

Yum! Delicious, isn’t it? Pictured next to this delectable King Cake, a festive food that is usually consumed during Mardi Gras celebrations, is the Mavea Filter Pitcher. You may wonder why the the Mavea Elemaris XL Purple Water Filter Pitcher is sitting next to it. You’ll need some clean filtered water to wash that delicious King Cake down and this filtered pitcher is perfect for the job. Manufactured from BPA-free plastic, this Mavea Water Filter Pitcher has a distinct design that comes in this elegant purple European style finish. It also features a Smart Meter filter change indicator for your added convenience.

During a night on the town wearing your traditional Mardi Gras beads, you will inevitably get thirsty. It will be very tempting to reach for a drink or a soda, but none of those beverages will properly hydrate your body. We suggest the Vapur Green Reflex Bottle. This completely collapsible and extremely portable water bottle can fit anywhere, which means you don’t have to carry it around. Tuck it in your bag after you finish drinking and resume the festivities.

After the celebration has ended, and you have retired your Mardi Gras mask for the year, you may be tired. Too tired to get up the next morning for work and to function throughout the day. As a result, you’ll go for the coffee. You may be surprised to discover that you’re running low on coffee filters, or even worse, completely out. This is where the Mr. Coffee Permanent Coffee Filter comes in handy.  Stop using the wasteful paper coffee filters in favor of this reusable and permanent coffee filter. It easily cleans and is dishwasher safe, making it a viable option for your home. This coffee filter will probably outlast our coffee maker! How’s that for durability?

The term “Mardi Gras” is French for Fat Tuesday. On this day, observers eat fatty, richer foods before the Lent season. Have you celebrated Mardi Gras before? Share your memories with us in the comments below.

National Wear Red Day: Taking A Stand Against Heart Disease

Did you know that cardiovascular disease claims the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year? To raise awareness about this serious issue, the American Heart Association created the Go Red For Women social initiative in 2004. This program is designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health, as well as band together and collectively to wipe out heart disease.

Members of the Filtersfast.com family wore red on National Wear Red Day, to raise awareness about this deadly disease.

In addition, employees had the opportunity to write the names of someone (whether it was a family member or a friend) on a specially designed red heart that was displayed on the “Wall of Hearts”  in a common area of the company. Employees had the opportunity to list these names either an “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of” heart.

Top Left to Bottom Right: Greg Shore, Steve Abraham, Manish Patel, Joan Ferrara, Jennifer Loomis-Beaver, Alex Hertzog, Hannah McCoy, Kym Moore, Dee Rubina, Gloria Riggle, Kory McNair, Steven Miller

At FiltersFast.com, we were excited to wear red on National Wear Red Day to show our support for the Go Red for Women initiative. Our hearts go out to anyone who lost a loved one while fighting this deadly disease. We encourage everyone to be proactive in monitoring the health of your heart everyday and come together as often as possible to fight cardiovascular disease.
