Did you know that cardiovascular disease claims the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year? To raise awareness about this serious issue, the American Heart Association created the Go Red For Women social initiative in 2004. This program is designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health, as well as band together and collectively to wipe out heart disease.
Members of the Filtersfast.com family wore red on National Wear Red Day, to raise awareness about this deadly disease.
In addition, employees had the opportunity to write the names of someone (whether it was a family member or a friend) on a specially designed red heart that was displayed on the “Wall of Hearts” in a common area of the company. Employees had the opportunity to list these names either an “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of” heart.
At FiltersFast.com, we were excited to wear red on National Wear Red Day to show our support for the Go Red for Women initiative. Our hearts go out to anyone who lost a loved one while fighting this deadly disease. We encourage everyone to be proactive in monitoring the health of your heart everyday and come together as often as possible to fight cardiovascular disease.
