The Hydronix 10" Big Blue Sediment Filter, also known as part number SDC-45-1005, contains graded density that provides higher dirt holding capacity than standard spun polypropylene and string wound cartridges. Constructed with 100% polypropylene, this Hydronix Sediment Filter is resistant to chemicals and reduces waterborne contaminants like silt, sediment, sand and rust. Tested and certified by NSF International under ANSI/NSF Standard 42 for material requirements only, this water filter is ideal for a wide range of residential, commercial, industrial and food service applications.
The coreless design of this Hydronix 4 1/2x10 Big Blue Sediment Filter is a cost-effective solution to pre-filtration for reverse osmosis systems and post-filtration for granular activated carbon filters (also known as GAC filters). Do not use this sediment filter with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. The operating temperature range for this Big Blue Water Filter is 40 degrees to 145 degrees Fahrenheit (4.4 to 62.8 degrees Celsius).
