Pentek UV-120-2 Ultraviolet Water Filter System

The Pentek UV-120-2 Ultraviolet System effectively controls bacterial and microbiological intrusions in potable drinking water without the use of environmentally harmful chemicals. Pentek Ultraviolet filter systems use a germicidal ultraviolet light at a wavelength of 254 nanometers to disrupt the reproductive process of harmful microbes and bacteria.

This Pentek ultraviolet filter system is constructed with one ultraviolet lamp (part number 163512), a durable polypropylene housing and cap, a stainless steel reaction chamber insert sleeve, a quartz sleeve to protect the lamp, a voltage regulated control module, a 6 foot long power cord, a built in steel mounting bracket, along with installation hardware and a housing wrench.

The UV-120-2 uses ultraviolet light only and does not use an actual filter cartridge. This system does not filter out sediment, particulates, chemicals, or other contaminants - it is used solely for reducing and removing harmful microbes and bacteria. For best results, this Pentek Ultraviolet filter should be used in conjunction with a standard whole house filter system.

It is recommended that the quartz sleeve be cleaned about every 3 months to ensure maximum exposure of UV light to the water. The UV Bulb should be replaced approximately every 9-12 months. The Pentek UV bulb usually will not burn out in that time, but its efficiency significantly decreases after a year.
