Hydronix CB-45-1005 Replacement for Pentek EP-BB

The Hydronix CB-45-1005 Replacement for Pentek EP-BB is the compatible replacement carbon block cartridge for the Liquatec CB-450-975-05, Pentek 155548-43, and Watts MAXETW-FF975. Ideal for food service, commercial, industrial and residential use, this 10-in filter is built from high purity coconut shell carbon. The filter has a diameter of 4.5-in, which allows it to be used as both an under sink filter and whole house filter. The CB-45-1005 reduces and/or removes the impurities found in water, and removes odors and improves taste. Contaminants like dirt, rust, and carbon fines can also be reduced by the quality coconut shell carbon with its 5 micron rating. This carbon block filter also reduces chlorine levels in water by replacing GAC filters (Granular Activated Carbon) and PAC (Powdered Activated Carbon) filters. Hydronix also manufactures several types of sediment filter cartridges in order to reduce particulates sometimes found in drinking water. These filter cartridges can arrive in micron ratings of 1, 5, 10, 25, 30, 50, and 75 based on your filtration needs.

the product itself is very good and high quality.....when I signed up for auto replenishment....it also came with a lower per unit cost.....lately the last charge for a replacement filter was $36.44 not the $29 per unit cost.....

Its a pretty good filter, however even thought I run 6 or 7 minutes of cold water thru the Hydronic filter (some them) just after replacement installation, they still deposit loose carbon fiber in my toilet reservoirs. I change two (2) different filters out every 6 months and have seen this happen in both houses where these filters are used. If the price keeps going up I'll may have to switch brands!
