This unit does the job for us on a houseboat on a lake. We don’t run the unit continually, just when we need to replenish fresh water. A few disappointments with the parts - silicone grease was not included (and you’ll definitely need some when installing the quartz sleeve), and also missing 4 bolts to attach the control box. The instructions were terrible, as the booklet contained information on multiple products. We made it through the assembly process without any disasters - it’s tricky installing the quartz sleeve and then getting the bulb safely inside the sleeve without contact. This system will be tricky to winterize, we may not like it as much when that time comes around. There is not an explanation of an output wire on the control box, thinking it must be a remote lamp circuit. The blue light on the control box gives us confidence the UV disinfecting is active. We like the unit so far. And the treated water has no detectable smell and is clear to the eye. We have stayed healthy while using and drinking the treated water from this unit.
