How do you install the Frigidaire WF2CB PureSource2?
- Push the release button to remove current filter and discard.
- Slide the new Frigidaire WF2CB PureSource2 filter in until it clicks.
- Run water through the dispenser for approximately 3 minutes, or 1.5 gallons, to prime the filter before use. Discard the water.
- Replace every 6 months or 200 gallons (757 liters), whichever comes first.

To make them last longer, you need a whole-house filter to catch the bulk of the dirt and rust coming into your house before it clogs the expensive filter. I use a $6.50 (from this site) 5-micron carbon wrapped filter, which I change every three months or as soon as my unfiltered water changes taste. My fridge filters sometimes make it 6 months and I have well-water.

Collected by FiltersFast.comWe use an in line filter before the water enters the fridge. That helps this filter last longer. It takes around a year before the water starts to slow down and the light turns amber. This is in a 3 person house hold who drink water constantly.

It serves our purpose well, except one complaint: Although the filter is supposed to be good for 6 months, our filter never lasted more than four month before it becomes really slow. I thought ther water should be pretty clean here in NYC, but I guess that might not be the case? Also, to Jacob: the fridge's filter light is set on a timer rather a detection of the filter's true condition. So pretty much when you replace the filter, a timer is reset and will turn yellow/orange in about six month time. In your case, like mine, the light never get the chance to come on, since we replace the filter in less than 6 months.
Collected by FiltersFast.comWe use filtered water for all coffee, tea, straight drinking water, and cooking, in a 2-person household. It takes about 9 weeks to use up one of these filters. After 9 weeks the water flow slows down to a dribble. The Frigidare's change filter light never goes to orange, but we change the filter because it is so slow. Maybe there is something (a lot of iron?) in the local water supply that gums up the filter faster than normal.
