The Filters Fast® FF10SET-.5 compatible under-sink carbon water filter set is a recommended alternative to the GE FXSVC, GE FXSLC and the Pentek P-250. Carbon block technology reduces chlorine taste and odor found in most water supplies and aids overall water clarity. Water is sourced from a number of sources, not all of them clean. Even after passing through a filtration process chemicals, sediment, or other contaminants may be present. Filters are a recommended solution to water quality issues. This product WILL NOT fit into filtration systems using Pentek-250 or FXSV size filters. Believe me-- Filters Fast sent these to me twice and they are too big. I can't believe FF continues to advertise this product as a correct replacement! I no longer go to FF for any of my needs.

I have a 15+ year-old GE 2-cartridge system that I installed in our house when new. I'm glad I can still get this pair of filters - they work as well as the originals. (They could benefit from benefit from better installation instructions, e.g., order of install, water flow, but that's been a problem with this pair since the beginning.)
